Nice Watch

Simpler than most are predicting. Manning will have one easy victory to pump up the sports world about this being “his year” before he has his annual chin-to-chest walk off the field next week. I don’t think he’ll ever win a ring, but the “chief” point in KC’s loss revolves around Trent Green’s head - it hasn’t been the same since it got clocked earlier in the season. They’ll run the ball 7,000 times, but still won’t be enough for a close game.

You’d think the Cowboys would be showcasing their passing game with Owens & Glenn (both 1,000 yarders), but Hasselbeck, regardless of the lower rating, was just there (SB) and has the opportunity to blow-up Dallas’ crappy pass defense (24th). Plus, Romo’s drop might be suspect of his mental game and he might be thinking about Honolulu too soon; doesn’t look ready for the big games and Seattle’s experienced line will be reminding him of that all game. If he gets popped early, it might be a boring blow-out to watch. If the Seahawks protect the ball and watch the turnovers, they shouldn’t have a problem.

Let the intolerable TV & radio sport shows talk about unfriendly handshakes & “bad blood”…ooohhhhhh, drama. Don’t get me wrong; Belichick’s silent ego is damn-sure worried about losing to the Genius again, but he’s always more business than personal. His mistake will not be by vendetta or spite; if he tries to adjust from his home loss to NY, he might shoot himself in the foot. Easy E proved he can play chess with Bill, and, more importantly, that Beli can be out-coached. Let’s see what the new turf in Foxborough does to Brady’s collarbone since Vilma will fly at him on carpet. If the Jets keep their 3-4 pressure on and win the time-of-possession battle, Belichick will be reaching up to shake Manigini’s hand…from his knees.

Actually would have liked to hear more about this one, but ESPN is doing another 2-hour special on dominoes after Lou Holtz finishes his commentary on phlegm he started 4 months ago. Isn’t this a huge rivalry? Aren’t they playing each other in the playoffs? Coughlin was a few minutes away from being axed to going to the playoffs. Whatever; they’ll probably still drop him if he doesn’t get to at least the NFC Champ game. Manning will be pressured too much to be productive, so they’ll try and take advantage of the Eagles run defense, which may be their only chance. I still think it will be the better match-up this week, and it may come down to special teams, which should be interesting with Feely and Akers. Could be a heartbreaker - always nice to revel in.

SFUCC YOU, MIAMI!

With the loss of Saban, and the looming return of Ricky Williams, it may be necessary for the Doll-fans to stack up on some ho-ho’s and Kabala psalms (or whatever is currently hip to pray to). First off, everyone knew Saint Nick was leaving since Xmas, ESPECIALLY South Florida fans, err…I mean South Florida “Seasonal Followers Under Corrupt Conditions” or SFUCC’s. Worst fans on the entire East Coast, and that’s only because I’ve never been out west. So, for that reason alone, these flummoxed fans shouldn’t be given a say. Continuing, why all the hub-bub, bub? Bitching like they really didn’t think he would leave. Personally, I’d love to see him stay and make the AFC East that much easier; plus we’d have more years of horrid dolphin football, which will still be the case (Culpepper or Brees?…hmmmmm; odds J.Taylor will cry when he retires? Even more than Favre. Odds Zack Thomas will realize J.Taylor drilled his sister like a mule? Zack can’t count that high.) Regardless, who the hell wouldn’t leave this situation? For $32 mil?! Hated the guy at LSU, hated him in Miami, but gotta’ say, Bravo Nicki…I couldn’t have given the SFUCC’s a bigger finger myself.
